Matthew Kreiner to Direct "Dead Lawyers"

Just off of the successful run of "The Fur Coat," by Candice Jarrett, in Rising Sun Performance Company's "Perceptions" night of one-acts, Matthew Kreiner will be making his Off-Off Broadway debut with Endtimes Productions directing "Dead Lawyers."

"Dead Lawyers", by George Larkin, is a murder mystery / farce / gut-busting comedy about lawyers who are travelling to the Hamptons for a weekend vacation.  Everything turns sour when they arrive during the storm of the century to find one of their own, dead, on the couch, having committed suicide.  Upon further inspection, they realize it might have been more; it might have been... murder.

The play is expected to open October 10th, 2008 at the Gene Frankel Theatre in the East Village of New York City.  Check back often for more updates!

THE FUR COAT
Written By Candice Jarrett
Directed by Matthew Kreiner
An intimate story that tells the journey of two young sisters who live with their jaded mother in the heart of southern Louisiana. In a world where reality is cold, harsh, and unforgiving, the wild imaginations of the two girls thrive as they struggle to maintain their innocence while coming of age.

Rising Sun's founding Artistic Director, Akia has selected the work of 3 up and coming playwrights as part of their “Aspire to Inspire” Series, one of RSP’s many programs created to support the work of emerging and established NYC theatre artists. Two of the plays are making their stage debut, and the other scripts have been paired with new directors to allow a fresh perspective on the work. All of the pieces feature the critically acclaimed Rising Sun Ensemble & Guest Artists.
